Colour-code a device

A per-host accent colour puts a coloured stripe on the device’s sidebar row, its session tab, and the terminal pane — the “am I on prod?” safeguard. Colours come from a curated, theme-aware palette so they stay legible in both light and dark themes.

Steps

Set the colour in the same dialog as the other device fields.

On a new device

1. Open the new-device dialog (sidebar + button).
2. Fill in the device fields.
3. Under Accent color, pick a swatch (or the No color option to leave it unset).
4. Click Save.

On an existing device

1. Right-click the device row in the sidebar.
2. Pick Edit device….
3. Pick a swatch under Accent color.
4. Click Save. The accent appears immediately on the row and on any open tab or pane for that device.

Notes

• The palette is a fixed set of named colours (not free hex), so each one has a tuned light- and dark-theme value with guaranteed contrast.
• A device with no colour set looks exactly as before — the accent is purely additive.
• Pair it with a convention across your team: e.g. red for production, amber for staging, green for the lab.
