Tag a device
Tags are free-form labels — prod, core, dc3, customer-x — you
attach to a device. They’re orthogonal to the folder hierarchy: a
device lives in one folder but can carry any number of tags, and the
tags show as chips on its sidebar row.
Steps
On a new device
- Open the new-device dialog (sidebar + button).
- Fill in the device fields.
- In the Tags field, type a label and press Enter; repeat for each tag.
- Click Save.
On an existing device
- Right-click the device row → Edit device….
- Add tags in the Tags field (type + Enter), or remove one with its ×.
- Click Save.
Notes
- Tags are plain text — use whatever taxonomy fits: role, site, customer, environment.
- They complement folders and accent colours: folders are the tree, colours are the at-a-glance safety cue, and tags are the cross-cutting labels.
